American athletes are having a hard time getting their hands on a new antioxidant supplement that is blowing Gatorade away as the preferred supplement for athletes. Created by Princeton Nutrients, this natural supplement is claimed to provide advanced antioxidant (2) support to the body in order to support cardiovascular health and maintain healthy cardio function, cholesterol levels, decrease inflammation, protect against cellular damage and boost cellular energy and mitochondrial health. When these antioxidants are taken together, they may be able to protect you from heart disease, which is one of the biggest killers in the U.S.A., responsible for one in every four deaths (3)
In order to achieve this, VitaPulse is created with just three key ingredients: NAC, (4) PQQ, (5) and CoQ10 (6). Along with this, Princeton Nutrients claim that you only need to take just one capsule of VitaPulse every day to reap the benefits, without any unwanted side effects.
Are Antioxidants Beneficial?
Since antioxidants are the main ingredients in VitaPulse, it’s worth knowing whether or not they are beneficial to your health before you go out and buy this supplement. Antioxidants are substances which can slow, or even prevent damage to human cells by inhibiting oxidation (electron loss) and the free radicals which can be released by this process. Everyday foods which most of us include in our diets contain a range of antioxidants including folic acid, vitamins A, C, E and beta-carotene.
However, regardless of the key role played by antioxidants in the body, there is a lot of mixed clinical evidence (7) when it comes to the subject of whether or not antioxidant supplements are able to provide any actual health benefits. This is especially relevant to the effectiveness of antioxidant supplements when it comes to preventing wide-spread health conditions such as cancers, cognitive decline, stroke, and heart disease.

NAC, the main ingredient in VitaPulse, is derived from the amino acid known as l-cysteine which acts as a protein ‘building block’. NAC is an antioxidant that is widely used, and it is also often claimed to be an effective tool for cancer prevention. New supplement companies, especially ones that use network marketing, seem to claim whatever they want until they get fact-checked. When it comes to cardiovascular health, however, NAC is only listed as a ‘possibly effective’ aid for reducing levels of homocysteine levels. When it comes to taking NAC, most health professionals recommend a dosager of 1.2 grams daily for optimum benefits, however, VitaPulse only contains around a quarter of this amount. Similarly, clinical studies conducted using CoQ10 have given participants daily dosages of at least 50g, again putting VitaPulse far on the other end of the spectrum when it comes to the dosage amount.
In addition to the possible fact that VitaPulse may not actually contain enough of each ingredient to actually cause any beneficial effect, it’s also important to note that Princeton Nutrients, VitaPulse’s manufacturer, does not actually provide any clinical evidence to support their claims regarding the health benefits of the supplement. However, there are a range of customer reviews available who claim that they have seen improvement in cardiovascular health since including the supplement in their diet.
Potential Side Effects
With just three active ingredients – and all in small amounts – it is safe to say that most users would easily be able to tolerate VitaPulse without experiencing any adverse effects. Amongst users of VitaPulse, one of the most commonly reported complains is digestive upset, with users experiencing a range of digestive problems such as bloating, stomach pain or constipation.
